Dear Kasen

Dear Kasen,

You are teething right now and the nights seem to bother you the most. Last night you woke up crying in the middle of the night so I sat and rocked you for the longest time. You were sleeping in my arms but every now and then you would stir a little, then reach up and touch my face just to make sure I was still there. It completely melted my heart.

You bring so much joy to our lives every day and I hope you always know how much you are loved.

Love,
Mom

It's been a while...

Whew, it's been quite a while since I've posted! There has been a lot going on the past few weeks.

I got to experience my first 4th of July. Well, I sort of experienced it. We just hung out during the day and I fell asleep hours before everyone lit off fireworks. The loud fireworks in our neighborhood woke me up about 11:00pm though. I was wide awake then and watched almost a whole movie sitting on Daddy's lap.

My biggest news.... Mommy's last day of work was July 3rd! Now we get to be with eachother every day and I don't have to go to daycare anymore! We've been keeping very busy going to playgroups almost every day. We went to one playgroup last week that was all babies. We just sat around and laughed at eachother and tried to steal eachother's sippee cups. It was so much fun!

Last weekend I had my first flu :-( I woke up in the middle of the night and threw up ALL over my crib. Mommy and Daddy had to wash everything and give me a bath. Then about 20 minutes later I threw up again all over Mommy. Throwing up made me cry and I decided I don't like it at all. I had a tummy ache for a couple days but I'm all better now.

Last but not least, I finally got a new high chair!! I've just been sitting in my stroller to eat but I was definitely ready for a high chair with a big tray. I eat even better on my own now! I'm getting really good at feeding myself and drinking out of my sippee cup. My favorite thing to eat is Gerber Graduates stars. I grab them in my fist then wiggle my hand around until the star makes its between my thumb and pointer and then put it right into my mouth. I could probably eat a whole container of them but Mommy always ends up taking them away after a while and I throw a mini tantrum every time. I'm starting to eat little bites of grown-up food too, which I love! I always want what everyone else is eating. I can't wait until I have teeth so I have more options!

Oh yeah, one more thing, I can "give 5" now! :-)
